The truth about the Iranian unrest....

Image
Lets be objective and impartial, not for and not against anybody in the Iran election, probably very difficult for many Iranians today but necessary to filter out the truth about what is actually happening behind the mirrors in Irans political sphere. Iran has a powerful politician called "Rafsanjani" he was a 2 term president and 2 term Parliament speaker, to be more precise a true pillar of the Islamic revolution. He and his clan enjoy an unbelievable and opulent amount of wealth, which is known to have been acquired after the revolution and specifically during his term as President. He is now the chairman of the "Assembly of Experts" in Iran, which observes and supervises the Leader of the Islamic republic of Iran (the Assembly is elected every 8 years and consists of 86 Islamic clergies). Other words, the Assembly can replace the Leader. Iran has a Supreme leader called "Khamenei" he was a 2 term president of Iran during the war (Iran-Iraq), and upon t

Media War !

These days the most favorite topic on almost every mainstream news channel is Iran, its election and its discrepancies, depending on which news channel we might be watching, we get different reports, to understand the massive differences in the coverage of this event, lets take a second look. We observed the systematic media coverage of certain developments in countries like Ukraine and Georgia in the past and not to forget the coverage of Burma and its unfortunate flood catastrophe (which turned political after 24 hours), in direct comparison to the coverage of the Tsunami in Indonesia. One sees the political doctrine of the 21 century being implemented through radio waves and through satellites, reporting events according to custom made patterns, magnifying events and obvious issues like a floating body (a victim of the flood)into a monstrosity and implies the fault of this to be by the Government which is not in line with the mentioned doctrine, creating artificial sensationalism an

The day after.....

The election in Iran is now over, but the fever is still sporadically present. The results are now known all over the world, the persistent western coverage of the Mussavi corner, apparently had risen the expectations in the west of a different outcome. That is one reason the west keeps miscalculating the Iranian political arena, next to the western reliance of intelligence and expertise about Iran on the disgruntled Iranian ex patriots, of whom some have left Iran decades ago. For those, familiar with all sides of this "Pyramid" called Iran, and not only the middle class districts of Tehran, this election result comes as no surprise, points of concerns to the majority (not interviewed by the western media) were for instance, Corruption.... every Iranian is aware of the corruption that established itself in the 90's and every Iranian knows the names affiliated with it, Iranians haven't forgotten. The other factor that the west keeps underestimating, was the so called p

The Iranian election

On this very last evening before the Iranian Presidential election, one has to admit to its unparalleled originality by Iranian standards, one dare say, unprecedented and unique and probably never to repeat in this manner again, campaigning style. The debates that took place and the tone in which it was conducted, is proof of the frustrations bottled up in the political hierarchy of the Iranian war generation against the gray eminence of the Islamic Republic in Iran. The Iranian President Ahmadinejad, whom to my surprise enjoys a massive support amongst the rural population, came out with a social stink bomb, accusing his main rival (Mussavi) of being supported by a financially corrupt yet exceptionally powerful individual, the individual (Rafsanjani)whom to Iranians of all political and social backgrounds is not only known as a two time President and Parliament speaker , but also exorbitantly notorious in matters of finance and undeclared wealth managed by an endless network of family

Israeli reaction to Obama

We all heard and were moved by the Obama speech in Cairo/Egypt. Some call it a clever move and some a silly one, The Republicans in the US accuse him of being too apologetic towards the Moslem's, the Democrats mean, the US can not apologize enough for Bush & Cheney. The Arab Governments pretend to be ravished, hoping for the pacification of their subjects that could eventually turn on their rulers for their humiliating inaction in their everyday dealings with the West (not to mention Gaza), and Iran wants above all a US that leaves the region, which leaves Iran to establish its preeminence. The US has always been the financial, military and political sponsor of Israel and that is not a secret. Israel is the only country not affected by the global recession, and the reason for this is because Israel has no economy based on production, Israels economy is a welfare state, dependent upon very very generous state sponsored tax deductible donations from different economies of the wor

Trita Parsi

Dr.Trita Parsi, born in Ahvaz/Iran is the president of the NIAC (National Iranian American Council). His biography is the typical story of a second generation Iranian who has managed well in promoting not only an academic carrier but his pragmatism and realism in world affairs, has guaranteed his presence in sensitive positions in international decision making apparatuses like the UN on different occasions, addressing affairs regarding countries like Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Iraq. Dr. Parsi's relatively speedy rise in the hierarchy of our todays so deserted pragmatic liberal body of thoughts, is to be considered a positive phenomenon and his management of the NIAC, has been very helpful to the Iranian-American society. Furthermore, his access to all spheres of todays political spectrum, now be it Israel, Iran or the USA gives him a unique opportunity to reflect the views and perspectives of each for the other to see and comprehend. His book "Treacherous Alliances" is exac
