The death of Cyrus the Great

Image
We all know, and have read of "Cyrus the Great" (Kourosh the Great), the First Iranian King of the Achaemenid dynasty who founded the Persian Empire around 550BC., to reflect his legacy, we only need to remind the world of the names attributed to him by friends and foes; The Iranians call him "The Father" , whereas the Greeks call him the "Law Giver" The Babylonians called him "The Liberator" and the Jews call him "Anointed of the Lord" . His achievements are historically manifested but little is known of the circumstances of his death, which we shall shed light on . The Persians called them "Saka" meaning archers, and their country was called Sakastan, their inhabitants were of an Iranic tribe , situated north of the, then Persian Empire, Tah-Mures was the queen of Sakstan and known to have been very stubborn in resisting Cyrus's advances in joining the empire. Tah-Mures rejected Cyrus's offer of marriage and thu

The first step !

Upon the Iranian new year celebrations, President Obama, has taken the much anticipated first conciliatory step towards Iran, that is to say the belated reaction to Iran's congratulatory message to his Presidential victory. Nevertheless it was a fine message, very balanced and thought through. One should not underestimate the pressure he is under to prolong official animosities towards Iran through the very strong Israel lobby "AIPAC", but he seems to have pulled it off and then gone to California to appear in a talk show to firstly divert the national attention towards even more financial mismanagements and secondly to escape the republican upsurge because of the message, which was partly televised. With this in mind, I hope Iran will construe this development properly and grasps this opportunity to make its case. The dangers of a war is not completely over, since Israel could target an American vessel in the Persian Gulf then have it blamed on Iran, to instigate a back

Cryptorealism

Image
The eccentric Iranian artist Davood Roostaei, is the founder of "Cryptorealism". Roostaei is by all definition, a classical case of a talented painter that seems to have found his path by illustrating his intentions and visions through multiple cryptic images, interweaved in even more mystery by changing the perspective. It is by all means an interesting method. Davood Roostaei, emerged in the 90's and T.H. Flemming (art critic) dubbed his style as "Cryptorealism". I shall be leaving a link for you (click on his name underneath) to view some of his works, and don't be mystified by the commercialism surrounding the sites, he has every right to benefit from his art, who said artists must starve to be great. His work is truly good and should be promoted in every possible manner. In my opinion, his style is typically Iranian, enigmatic and interpretable, though his themes are international, but one has to take time to stare, peer, gaze and yo-yo around at his

Divine (Semite) Comedy !!

Image
Taking a close look at todays world, and comparing the general mindset of todays peoples with that of a few generations before us, I have to admit, the problems are more or less the same, the attitudes and mentalities are exactly the same, love and hatred smell and tastes the same as it used to be in 722 BC, during which the Assyrians invaded and destroyed Israel. Later in 586 BC, the Babylonians took turn to destroy Jerusalem, was rebuild again by the Jews, but the Romans turned it into rubble at around 70 AD, then waited a few years, only to find a reason to destroy it again in 135 AD. No wonder the Jews of Israel get paranoid when hearing harsh words aimed at them. There really is a pattern here, either that or "God" seems to want to make a point(Divine pattern), precisely this theory of "Divinity", we shall look into now. Lets forget Eastern religions here and take a look at the "Bible" the old testament, revered by the West. The book of Jeremiah, Ch

The Algiers Accord 1975

Image
Hoshiyar Zeibari the ex-terrorist and present Iraqi foreign minister, has questioned the "Algiers Accord of 1975" the very Accord for which 230 000 Iranians died, over half a million others injured, just to preserve and uphold it. As a reminder,"Saddam Hussein tore the Accord up in TV declared war on Iran in 1980, 5 years after signing it and after 8 years of war and bloodshed, accepted and recognized it again". Today, suddenly comes a sleazy "wannabe" politician, intoxicated by the US presence in Iraq, thus considering himself to be untouchable, that we have to renegotiate the Algiers Accord. Zeibari is also responsible for the raid on the Iranian consulate in Kurdistan/Iraq, he personally asked the US forces to arrest the 5 Iranian Diplomats that have been in US prison in the so called Green Zone of Baghdad for the last 2 years, the very people he had invited. His recently acquired anti Iranian approach/attitude, comes from the fact that Iran has beg

Quid pro quo

Image
The simplified definition of "quid pro quo" is "something for something", to define it even more , it would be best to set an example, the best example that strikes into mind is what happened in the last couple of years regarding the Mohammad caricature incident and the subsequent ridiculing of the Holocaust. In case we should have forgotten the reason the Holocaust suddenly became an issue between Iran and the west, then I would like to remind you of the Mohammad caricature in the western media, in which the western governments coordinately and vehemently defended this ridiculing of a prophet admired and revered by hundreds of millions, in caricatures depicting terrorists and Ali-Baba lookalikes , as freedom of expression and bedeviling the orient for its intolerance. As expected, Iranians did not make much of a fuss except for a few noisy demonstrations but, the Iranian government, made as expected the most effective move, just as the "Salman Rushdi" nov

Militant brutality

Last November, in King county Seattle USA a 15 year old girl was jailed for auto theft, she was asked upon entering her cell to hand over her shoes, she took off her shoes in a manner typical for almost all 15 year olds, as a result of which a deputy sheriff "Paul Schene" decided to teach her a lesson in manners as embedded underneath; The incident above is actually typical of the kind of militant brutality we are experiencing throughout the world, The shoe thrower of Bush was interrogated by a "Black Water International" agent and his hand was brutally broken as result and in England for years the Irish prisoners accuse the British agents of torturing the prisoners into confessions, not to mention the systematic torture of people by regimes such as Egypt and Saudi Arabia of US delivered prisoners, the latter is done by the US to avoid legal persecution, in case these people are innocent. Fact is we are experiencing a massive hypocrisy by the Mass Media, in which th
