Satellite Launch
Iran managed to launch and place its long awaited and promised satellite in orbit, and seems to be successfully communicating with it, the satellite is called "Omid" and is supposed to circulate Earth 15 times per day for about 2 months, until the batteries run out and it stops communicating. The carrier on the other hand seems to be the more interesting part of this project, it is called "Safir 2" and it verifies the mastering of the 2 staged missile technology.
As expected, being the 9th country to be sending a satellite into space, didn't receive any positive enthusiasm in the west, partly because it doesn't fit into the constantly propagated picture of a despotic backward society that wants to destroy the world and partly because they know that when a country has mastered the 2 staged missile technology, then "sky is the limit" what range and capabilities of missiles could be.
Is this a source of pride ? yes certainly for any Iranian. Furthermore one wishes the Iranians more and more groundbreaking achievements, to be one day not only independent of monopolized western technologies that really matter ! but also a pillar of dependency for others who want to step in Iran's path of self sufficiency.
I have embedded the launch in 3D for you to enjoy as I did.
