From Within

Image
I would like to move away from the events blinding my general objectivity, and not concentrate on what the systematic bombardment of information wants me to believe, like stepping a few steps aback to consider the whole picture and not just the segment with the spotlight. The refreshing phenomenon of being able to avoid having to take sides over a political issue, is only known in the least populated areas of Scandinavian countries, but one learns to establish this mental situation everywhere, simply by avoiding daily news coverage of the established international news agencies, which quite honestly, all tastes and sounds identical, as if the whole food(news) has been cooked by the same chef, but served by different waiters and waitresses. Furthermore, one has to move on and not stand idle, one should look for historical similarities considering recent historical developments, of which one is genuinely convinced of its authenticity. With regard to Iran and its recent developments, I fou

Shirin Neshat

Image
Shirin Neshat a modern visual artist, was born in Qazvin/Iran in 1957, a few years before the revolution moved to the US and did her Masters in Berkeley in 1982, then moved to New york. Her first encounter with post revolution Iran, took place in 1990.One can imagine the cultural shock she must have endured, but usually , these are the kind of surreal experiences that stimulates an artistic soul to be creative. She has done much and should anyone be interested in her works, she is a google away! My point of interest in her,is her interesting filming of S.Parsipour's novel "Women Without Men" not to be confused with Ernest Hemingway's short stories from 1927 called "Men Without Women". I embed the trailer of her work underneath alongside an interview of her should you be interested. . .

Iran's political system simplified

May be one of the most misunderstood countries of the world today is Iran. Reading and hearing reports of Iran, written by mostly uninformed reporters, whose knowledge of Iran limits itself in 2 meals consumed at some Persian restaurant in some big city. Furthermore, their self-assertions sometimes crosses the barriers of ignorance and as a reader one feels irritated and frustrated. Some call it disinformation, but I would like to call it irresponsible illiteracy. I take it upon me to simplify the A-B-C of the Iranian political hierarchy for any one interested to know from top to bottom, who knows maybe it helps to neutralize the stultification of some western news consumers, should they bother to read. Supreme Leader / This position is elected by the Assembly of Experts, the "Leader" is the commander in chief of all armed forces and can have the last say in all major issues of internal or foreign relevance, Radio and TV heads are named by the Leader,Head of the Judiciary i

Operation Ajax 2 ......

Image
Looking back at the contemporary Iranian political history, we can not oversee the darkest ever period that Iran experienced, in which the hard obtained democratic Government of Dr.Mossadegh was toppled by a so called popular uprising of a large crowd of thugs that threatened and aggressively destroyed the establishment of the Iranian fragile democracy whose objective was to nationalize the Oil industry, after which the Shah was reinstated and as of then practically ruled as an absolute monarch despite of the constitutional restrictions, also hard won through the constitutional revolution in Iran.Today we all know the names of those thugs and how they were financed and above all who initiated it. It was organized and carried out by the British and US intelligent services and the whole operation as is known today was called "Operation Ajax". Should we have a short memory, I remind us all of a country called "Georgia" this country has been in the news quite often in t
