Where ISIS / DAESH arms come from
Turkish daily newspaper “Jomhuriet” has released a series of images and video showing that Turkish state intelligence agents participating in smuggling of arms across the border to Daesh or as they are known in Europe ISIS. The video shows security officials unloading a box of antibiotics, revealing large amounts of mortar shells underneath. This is reportedly the same January 2014 incident already reported by other news agencies as part of many testimonies in legal proceedings. Where the arms went once they crossed the border has not been declared, but they were believed to have been distributed broadly among groups of ISIS /DAESH factions, particularly ISIS groups that already control large portions of the Turkish border. Turkey as expected has repeatedly denied the charges, and followed up today’s publication by announcing the newspaper that broke the story is facing charges of “terrorism” for making the report.
